It's funny, that you think you have so much power [mmhmmm hes familiar with the idea here] over me that I'm your responsibility. And terribly self-centered, did I mention that? The world doesn't revolve around Spider-Woman. Not all things she comes into contact with are her problem.
[compare to matt daredevil murdock, all things are my responsibility and only i can save hells kitchen]
[ Hearing this from Matt "Definitely the Kingpin" Murdock is about -100 in Gwen's list of things she ever wanted to do. ]
Okay, what do you even know about responsibility, Murderdock? You don't get to lecture me! You killed a guy in cold blood, and I'm pretty sure you got away with or you wouldn't be the sleazebag lawyer you are today.
The world might not revolve around me, but I'm the only one who's even close to knowing the real you, so-- yeah, you know what? That makes you my responsibility. Whether you like it or not.
[matt lets her finish her tirade, and then he just laughs at her. it's cold and it's delegitimizing and it gives her no power in this conversation. but the things she says are funny to him, it's a swing and a hard miss and he'd told her before she needed to learn how to aim her punches before she threw them.]
Bravo, Gwen, what a rousing speech.
[he pauses, like maybe he's going to stop there or maybe he's going to keep talking. he tries not to be a comic book villain, but sometimes opportunities are just so impeccably laid at his feet it's hard not to fall into the trope.]
You've got 99 problems, and I really shouldn't be one of them.
[ Gwen glares hard at her watch, shutting it when Matt starts to laugh. Too bad it's a recorded message and she eventually has to go through the whole bit in order to get to the actual message. Ugh, she hates this guy. If this was in person she'd have totally tried to throw a punch at him by now. (And it probably would have gotten her killed or at least injured, but that's neither here nor there.) ]
Whatever, Murdock. Just throw your stupid "party." I'll be there.
But, look, it sounds like people are ending up mentally the age their bodies end up. [this is why he called there was a point here] Remember how I said I don't need to be your responsibility? I think we might wanna table that one.
I mean, suit yourself. But I should maybe remind you about my whole "raised by ninja parents to be a force of destruction" backstory you're forgetting.
Fine, alright. Should I go pick you up or something? How do I know your kid-ninja self won't try to attack me if I tell him he can't stay up past curfew?
[ What do you even do with a tiny Matt Murdock, she doesn't really want to find out but she doesn't have much choice either. He's her "responsibility."
Gwen sighs. Whatever!! She can totally do this. Though she is in kind of a hurry so she goes to him via her web shooters and switches out of her gear before going to meet him. Sure, he can't see, but other people can... ]
[unfortunately (what were you expecting), by the time she gets there he's already a kid. he's there...its his house...but he's also hiding in a closet trying to decide if he should jump her or what
[when gwen enters the closet he jumps down from the shelf he was perched on -- this is the nice part about being a little kid, you can fit into crawl spaces - to try and land on top of her. of course, he doesn't know about her spider sense so she might just get the sense in time to jump away OR she'll end up with one little ninja kid on her back]
