[the second her hand is on him he's pulled a knife out of his cane. the one he has as an adult is a little more exciting than the one he's used to, but he'd already figured out all the weapons in it well before she got here. he's got the knife up to her neck as she closes her hand around him but he doesn't try and cut her.
[ Jesus christ, no spider-sense could save her from this, apparently. It figures of course, it never works when she needs it to and only seems to scream at her when she's already neck-deep in trouble.
Man, but who'd've thought mini Murdock would pull a knife on her? ]
Yikes, okay, okay... [ She pulls her hand away and raises both of hers in surrender. This is embarrassing, being held at knifepoint by a kid... ]
Man, you weren't kidding around when you said you went to ninja school. How are you even doing this right now, aren't you blind?
[he's not an idiot - if his older self hadn't told her about his powers there was obviously some weird angle here but he really does feel like they can't be very good at working together if she doesn't even know his greatest strength
so he does the conversational equivalent of ✓ seen at and says]
[ Talking to this baby Murdock may actually be more annoying than talking to his adult self. Then again, neither of them will give her any information ever, so it's more of the usual.
She sighs. ]
Look, I'm not gonna stop you from exploring or whatever. You probably wanna go out and have a look around. [ "look" around? How is he doing any of this?? Who knows. ] I'm just gonna tail you to make sure you don't get into any trouble, okay? If you wanna blame someone, you're gonna have to blame future-you.
[that's it, that's all the warning she gets before he and heaven's door make their way over. he's getting slightly more used to the sensory input from the Stand, although it's still weird to be perceiving things from a spot next to him rather than centered on him.
i mean, it's weird not having his own powers, in general. Heaven's Door has a much more limited scope. At least in terms of this.
anyways he knocks on the door and everything like a nice guy]
[ Gwen can sense Matt coming before he knocks. It's weird and uncomfortable and she can feel something weirdly at his shoulder? What the hell is that? ]
Yeah, coming...
[ She drags herself over to the door and holds it open for him. Seeing the Stand in person is only slightly weirder than sensing it before anything else, but she's still gonna stare. Holy crap. ]
[for a moment, matt's about to ask if she's ended up with his powers, because from the beginning of what she says it's the start of a pretty decent description she mentions seeing and no dice.
[ Gwen sighs. Murdock, you're not cool!! Especially with that weird thing looming over you... okay, maybe you're a little (a lot) creepier. ]
Are you gonna tell me or not? Cause you didn't have to come this far if you were just gonna put me on a wild goose chase or gimme some weird villain riddle.
